Christina met Brittany through the SWAA (Saskatchewan Wildlife Art Association). Like Christina, Brittany works in many different media. She even attended Christina's colored pencil workshop at "Reflections of Nature" 2008.
Working mostly in pastels, Brittany creates mesmerizing artwork that is soft and incredibly detailed at the same time. Brittany is inspired by all animals, and creates pet portraits as well as wildlife art.

Christina met Sheri through the SWAA (Saskatchewan Wildlife Art Association). Sheri teaches art, and is one of Brittany Klassen's biggest mentors.
Black Horse Design - The Art of Sheri Gordon - Equestrian Art for the Dreamers

Christina met Krista through the RFA (Regina Federation of Artists). Krista's work brought a whole new level of diversity to the guild, and her work is simply amazing.
Krista says "The spirit of my art is inspired by and incorporates raw elements from nature to reconnect us to the life force that permeates everything. Placing raw elements in interplays of abstraction allows the medium itself to express its own energy. The viewer experiences an intuitive emotional understanding of this energy, which is individualized as the viewer affects the piece of art as much as the piece of art affects the viewer. As our production of goods becomes more mechanized our relationship to earth becomes more disconnected, therefore I feel that I act as the vehicle in which the natural elements can express their energy to other beings."

Christina met Al through his gallery in Regina. For a short period of time, Christina worked in his gallery, where she got to know Al a little better and had the benefit of his good humor and broad knowledge on being a career artist. It was Al who first encouraged Christina to participate in the "Reflections of Nature" competition in Saskatoon. Christina still takes her originals to Al in Saskatoon to be framed, as she won't trust anyone else to handle her artwork.
The Art of Al Nelson Weitzel - unique creations of wildlife, equine, and western art in the medium of claybord.

Christina met Doug through the RFA (Regina Federation of Artists). Doug is the master behind Christina's amazing prints - Doug scans, proofs, and prints these amazing high-quality giclee prints from his home studio in Emerald Park, SK.
Doug's prairie upbringing has been the major influence in his art, which concentrates on rural landscapes, farms, old buildings and derelict machinery. In his paintings he strives to capture a sense of his own feelings, experiences and appreciation for the beauty, color and texture of the landscape and the artifacts of prairie life.

Christina met Rebecca and Glen through the SWAA (Saskatchewan Wildlife Art Association). At "Reflections of Nature" 2007, Grambos were the "Featured Artists" and gave an amazing presentation. Christina immediately fell in love with their photography, and proceeded to completely break-the-bank by purchasing a selection of her favorite reference photos from their massive collection of completely incredible photography.
Glen and Rebecca Grambo are award-winning natural history photographers with their work appearing in countless books and calendars in several countries, as well as in magazines including Canadian Geographic, Nature Canada, Equinox, Canadian Wildlife, and Outdoor Life. The covers of Canadian Geographic and Nature Canada recently showcased their work.

Christina is an active member of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Art Association (SWAA) based in Saskatoon, SK. She participates every year in their annual "Reflections of Nature" exhibition and competition, and has won many awards in their amazing show. Christina was honored to be invited to judge in the 2006 competition, and has taught workshops in 2007 and in 2008.
The Saskatchewan Wildlife Art Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting wildlife, wildlife art and the artists who create it.

Christina is an active member of the Regina Federation of Artists. She participates in their twice-yearly shows, and has won numerous "People's Choice" awards for her original work. This guild is one of the most diverse in the city, boasting a great selection of paintings and drawings, three dimensional sculptures, limited edition prints, and more. The RFA has been a great public outlet for Christina's work.

Links to Christina's favorite Charities and Big Cat Resources:

Big Cat Art supports the Snow Leopard Conservancy

The Snow Leopard Conservancy is helping Snow Leopards in their natural habitats - they are an organization striving to help Snow Leopards through a number of great methods - check out their site! Christina is currently donating $10 from each print of "Serenity" to the Snow Leopard Conservancy.

Big Cat Art supports the Big Cat Rescue

Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, Florida is a sanctuary for big cats, housing over 200 animals in their wonderful "Cat-a-tats".  They are making a difference in the world of big cats. Christina plans to donate portions of future print sales to Big Cat Rescue, and hopes to someday visit the organization for a photo-tour.

The Guzoo is a privately owned animal farm near Three Hills, AB. They have a wonderful assortment of animals, including the big cats!  They graciously gave Christina a tour of their facility, allowing her to take her own reference photos (which she is now turning into art!).  The Guzoo has a Siberian Tiger, Bengal Tigers, African Lions, Lynx, Cougars, and many more! Visit their site, and donate to their cause if you can - every little bit helps the animals! (The Guzoo is privately owned and funded - no government/community funding - it is a family owned operation). Christina will be donating portions of future print sales to The Guzoo as a thanks for their generosity.
You may have read or heard negative things about the Guzoo and their operation. I want to make it extremely clear that my stance on this issue is that I have NEVER seen animals abused or neglected in any of my visits (and I get tours of the entire facilities) and it is my personal belief that activists will take any chance to tear apart an organization that doesn't have the funds of the larger and more prominent zoos (and therefore does not have the snazzy hundreds-of-thousands-of-dollars enclosures). The Guzoo staff has worked incredibly hard (and continues to do so) to provide every animal in their facility with everything they need to live happy and fulfilled lives. The well-being of their animals comes first - even before the public's experience - meaning they will not sacrifice an animal's comfort simply to show them off for visitors.
